Description
The picture shows two points( Galileo guest house and San Giusto site) and the link between them we want to make.
Calculation
For this purpose, we used the radio mobile software. The software version is 7.0.5 and labelled Radio propagation and virtual mapping freeware. For more information, you can go the url http://www.cplus.org/rmw and http://www.gsl.net/ve2dbe.
One can use the following steps:
1. Define a new network. Click on the menu File then select new networks. The following window appears:
2. After a click on the apply button, choose Map properties from the menu File. The following window appears:
We centered the map to download in the Galileo guest house and selected a height of 20 km. To enter the latitude and longitude coordinates, you have to press on Enter LSN LON QRA. Galileo guest house coordinates are 45 degre, 42 min, 15 sec North, 13 degre, 43 min, 13 sec East, 70 m for elevation. The path where the map file is located has to be specified correctly choosing the SRTM which is for all countries. The configuration appears on the previous window.
The result is the folloiwng map:
3. This step consists of defining the name of the network and its properties keeping the polarisation into vertical mode and the climate to maritime temperate over sea. The frequency range is from 2400 Mhz to 2484 Mhz.

5. The system definition is shown in the following window for the setting about Base and Remote sites respectively:

7. The membership definition is shown in the following window. We can underline that the role of the Galileo guest house is set to master and its system is Base.
Also the role of the San Giusto is set to slave and its system is Remote as shown in the window.
8. Once again to the network properties in the File menu selected, by clicking on the apply button, the following picture appears:
9. From the menu Edit, select Merge pictures and choose Internet Map Point and Europe options.
The result obtained is shown in the following window:
10. Below are some pictures. The first one the view of Galileo Guest House from San Giusto whereas the second one is the view of San Giusto from Galileo Guest House.
11. From the toolbar, choose the radio link icon
Concluding remarks
From this experiment, one can see that the setting used are enough good for communication between the two sites. See the figure at the point 10. for more details. However, these are simulation results.
