The second day of the last week of the school started some minutes after 9:00 am. The main topic of the day is Advance topics???
Our dear Professor, R. Struzak, made the first presentation with the topic "Signal Field-Strength Measurements: Basics". In his presentation, he tried to answer the following questions;

• Why measurements?

• What is error, uncertainty, accuracy?

• What factors do influence uncertainty?

• How to evaluate errors?

• What is least-square fitting?

The second presentation by Marco Zennaro introduced us to how NEC, a software for antenna design, works. Marco demostrated to us how we can use the software in designing antenna with examples.
NEC means Numerica Electromagnetic Code
Then, coffe break around 10:00 am

TALK AT NO COST (VOIP-Voice over IP) was the main topic of the second session of the day which was presented by Stephen Okay. He talked about different protocols like;

•H.323 which an ITU-T's standard

•MGCP - Media Gateway Control Protocol

After the lunch break was practical exercise on VOIP also by Stephen .
At the middle of this presentation, the co-director of the school Prof. Sandro M. Radicella came with two visitors Prof. Giuseppe Furlan, Head of the ICTP Programme for Training and Research in Italian Laboratories and a Professor from Burundi who is the current minister of education in his country. Our visitors were briefed on the current topic been discussed which is VOIP. The minister was later presented a can antenna and the textbook 'Wireless Networking in the Developing World'.
There was a demostration on how call can be made with VOIP protocol. Stephen actually called Carlo using VOIP and his colleague in US who explained to us how this protocol is being implemented in Uganda. The questions and answers that follows made us to go for the coffe brake very late.
The last session of the day was on the preparation for the out door activity tomorrow. We are to make a radio link between Galileo guest house and Muggia which is about 12km away from the guest house. Before the day's activity was rounded up, we visited the roof of Galileo guest house to see how the antenna for tommorrow activity looks like.
Three more days to go for this year school on wireless Networking for Development
