Monday Blues catch the better of Monday 20th February at the Wireless Networking School
So, Monday the 20th February was a very lonely 'person' We had few friends wanting to write on the Wiki how Monday treated them.
Here is how everything went.
At 09.20hrs Prof. R.Struzak welcomed us back to the lectures after a great weekend for most participants. There was a carnival in Venice on Saturday and at least half the class had crossed over to Venice to catch the event. It was truely a fantastic event so i guess most minds were still in Venice by Monday morning.
To begin with, we were informed that William Luther (FCC, USA) would not make it to the school. Prof. R.Struzak therefore gave a lecture on Indoor radio coverage measurement. He briefly discussed and referred us to the notes by William Luther (FCC, USA) on Frontiers of Radiocommunications and ICT Public Policies for Development that are posted on the Wiki.
At 10.00hrs, we gladly took the coffee break. Coffee always does the trick to energize everybody effectively.
At 10.20hrs, we had a good lecture on Economic Planning by Giovanni Repici (Telecom Italia).
He discussed in detail approaches to feasibility of Intranets and Extranets. Most importantly, he discussed planning that ensure that networks are economically viable. He also presented three case studies of data networks in developing countries.
Then some Pasta lunch at this time.... 12.20
The afternoon was spent building mesh networks. Every group had to prove thier might by having their network IPs? apearing on the OSLR visualisation graph of the ictp-mesh access point.
Every one fought very hard and by 18.30hrs, i guess all groups were declared warriors!
We aslo had the implemented some security on mesh networks\\
