This day started with very interesting talk WiFi? Overview by Tomas Krag,the talk was on very interesting area and presentation by Tomas made it very lively. He gave overview of various standard organizations in the related field by rightly putting Wireless transmission as " Unlicensed but not unregulated" . He discussed the 802.11 Alphabet soup ! After the coffee break Rob Flickenger gave the presentation on Wi Fi networking architecture. He started with the relavance of TCP/IP MODEL in the context of 802.11. He also clearly explained the bridge networks, routing networks with the concepts of Ad hoc networks. This presentation was followed by discussion on implementation aspects and selection criterion for Wi-Fi hardware by Tomas Kraig.

Post Lunch session started with much awaited hands-on session for setting up the Wireless Access Point. In this session all participants were actively involved in configuration of various other models of Access points apart from brand new Linksys boxes. Each group has to report their results to win some points. The lab session continued under supervision of T. Krag and R. Flickenger. This lively day refused to end till late evening with various groups of participants playing around with netstumbler configuration and related activities.
