Below about 10 GHz, atmospheric gaseous attenuation can generally be ignored.

Examples of two ITU-R Recommendations containing methods for predicting the total propagation loss on:
- LOS terrestrial paths
- Earth-space paths

where it would be necessary to include an assessment for gaseous absorption.

Both of these Recs point to Rec. P.676 for the model to be used.
