As a specific example where super-refractivity and/or ducting is taken into account in system planning, take again the case of sharing between two stations on the Earth’s surface – namely a terrestrial station (of a microwave link) and an earth station.
As mentioned earlier, Rec. P.452 addresses all potential propagation mechanisms that could occur, of which super-refractivity would likely be the dominant one in this case.
