Antenna Readings From Muggia

Prepared by Huda El Hag and Hina Rubab

The test setup involved two locations, the transmitting end at GGH – ICTP ( N 45 ° 42' 15" , E 13 ° 43' 13" ) in which there was the following equipment:

  1. ORiNOCO RG-1000 Residential Gateway (The RG-1000 can act as a straightforward 802.11b access point) with the following specifications
  1. Hyperlink Technologies DC power Injector / lightening protector Model BTCL2402SE ( 12V)
  2. Hyperlink Technologies Amplifier Model CLA2400ASE
  1. 12 meters of cable ( 4dB attenuation)
  2. Parabolic dish ( 1.5 m diameter)

At the receiving end Muggia ( N 45 ° 36' 10" , E 13 ° 45' 10" ) , Altitude= 176 m,
LOS= 11.8 km there was the following equipment

  1. Solar panel (20volts, current 3 amperes , power 45 watts)
  2. Battery (12V)
  3. Lap top
