Recommendation P.1410
Statistical model for building blockage
- probability that a LOS exists between TX and RX
- assumed building density
- assumed building height distribution
Notes:
- In simple terms, model is based on determining probability that LOS exists between BS and a given RX. Assumptions made about the distribution of buildings and their heights (Rayleigh).
- Parameters needed are:
ratio of land area covered by buildings to total land area
mean number of buildings per unit area
variable in distribution describing most probable building height.
- Building density and heights will vary from one region to another and so predictions will vary depending on direction. Because of differing building height distributions, database may have to be subdivided into smaller regions for prediction purposes.
