CONFIGURING THE TCP/IP STACK



  • The information you should need to configure the TCP/IP stack for your host are:

  • IP address ( for ex. 140.105.45.21 )
  • Domain name ( in this case rl21.ictp.trieste.it )
  • Broadcast address ( 140.105.45.255 )
  • Network mask ( also netmask, here 255.255.255.0 )
  • Default gateway ( here 140.105.45.50 )
  • DNS server(s) ( here 140.105.16.50 )
    STOP!take care to use always unique IP address and domain name for your host to avoid problems!
